Building a Modern Data Stack for the Next Generation of Telecom
OXIO provides a cloud-native Telecom-as-a-Service (TaaS) platform to any enterprise, brand or individual looking to become an MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) or embed connectivity into their existing digital products and customer experiences. As part of their commitment to bring scalable connectivity, new use cases and innovation to the legacy telecom industry, they offer superior speed, control and flexibility, privacy-first business intelligence, and end-to-end network security.
Data plays a major role in OXIO’s operations and the value it provides to customers. Its BrandIQ product and other business intelligence solutions allow customers to gain insights from first party telecommunications data. For this purpose, the OXIO team built a modern data stack that could help them provide a rich data experience to customers, and support a growing number of users, data, and use cases.
Sisense and QBeeQ Provide Flexible Embedded Analytics with Quick Time to Market
OXIO was looking to embed analytics dashboards into their products in a way that felt native, met their specific needs, and could be quickly iterated based on client feedback. They found that other BI tools did not provide enough flexibility or were not intuitive for their customers, while building dashboards fully in-house would take too much development time. The need to customize dashboards and the underlying data model added complexity to the process.
Using Sisense’s embedded analytics with QBeeQ plugins and support services gave OXIO the flexibility they needed while allowing quick time-to-market and minimal development overhead. Quick release cycles are critical for OXIO to iteratively improve products based on real-world testing; the solution they built with QBeeQ and Sisense supports this approach, and helps them avoid long lead times of custom development that slow progress. Frequent updates help OXIO refine offerings and better meet evolving market needs. OXIO sees QBeeQ as a true partner, by providing A to Z services for anything and everything Sisense.
By implementing Sisense and augmenting it with QBeeQ plugins, OXIO is now able to:
Embed highly customized, performant analytics in their products
Rapidly release, gather stakeholder feedback, make changes, and re-release to find the right product-market fit
Provide advanced visualizations to their users, such as heatmaps for analyzing user behavior, pivot tables for ad-hoc analysis, and Sankey diagrams for visualizing flows and funnels
Improve dashboard loading times and overall performance compared to other tools, especially with the lazy loading plugin
"QBeeQ gives us a level of flexibility that we could only achieve otherwise by building an in-house analytics solution. But because we’re using Sisense and QBeeQ, we’re able to put the majority of our focus on testing and learning, and ultimately delivering more value to our customers early and often."
– Gilles Louwerens, VP of Data and Intelligence, OXIO
How OXIO Uses QBeeQ Plugins to Enhance Sisense
OXIO is using several QBeeQ plugins to provide advanced analytics capabilities to their clients directly within their embedded dashboards, as well as for internal use cases. These include:
The Heatmap plugin is being used in 2 out of 3 products and soon to be integrated into the 3rd. Useful for clients to see the behavior of acquisitions in a highly consumable way.
The Advanced Expandable Pivot Table allows customers to model the data they want to see and quickly download it to Excel to continue their investigation.
Lazy Load has been crucial for ensuring fast loading times and a responsive user experience, which was a significant pain point with other analytics solutions.
Sankey helps internal users to see the flow of different acquisition channels, and enables executives to see a high-level overview of the success of different initiatives.
Delivering Client Value and Looking Ahead
By embedding Sisense and QBeeQ-powered analytics, OXIO has been able to deliver significant value to their clients in a timely fashion. Their users can now leverage data to make better decisions using the rich first-party data that the OXIO platform provides.
Looking ahead, OXIO plans to expand its embedded analytics capabilities, with geo-spatial analytics being the next major use case on their roadmap. They are excited to continue their partnership with Sisense and QBeeQ to make this vision a reality and further empower their clients with data-driven insights.
